portUpon successful completion of the course of training, the graduates acquire a bachelor degree and are prepared for the positions of an organizer, deputy harbour master and a master of a small port. They can also occupy a number of operator and expert positions in port administrations and shipping companies.

The fundamental training is provided through studying Calculus, Physics, IT, Technical Mechanics, Electrical Equipment, English, etc.

The majoring subjects are: Ship Construction and Theory, Ship Operation, Ship Cargo Operations, Technology of Port Activities, Economy of Water Transport, Work Organization and Safety. Also, Navigation, Meteorology and Oceanography, Ship and Port Protection, and other subjects are studied to a lesser extent. The training is broad-scoped and enables the graduates to work in a variety of fields of maritime transport activity.

The course of training lasts for four years and includes theoretical classes, practice on simulators and at a port and a shipping company, and a training cruise for familiarization with the Black Sea and the Mediterranean and their ports. To provide for the classes, the Academy has state-of-the-art laboratories for navigation, seamanship and ship control, rigging, ship operation, IT, language learning, etc.

The course of training ends with state examination.

The acquired degree of education and qualification enables the graduates to further their training on master degree programmes at the Academy and other institutes of higher education.
