The duration of the course of study is 5 years. Two parallel and simultaneous major programs underlie the cadets' training: Navy Task Group Organization and Control as well as Marine Engineering. On successful graduation cadets acquire two B. Sc. Degrees in the respective majors.
The academic syllabus includes fundamental subjects such as Calculus, Physics, IT, Foundations of Mechanical Engineering, Technical Drawing, Metallography, Metals Technology, Foundations of Mechanical Theory, English, etc.
The specialised level includes Ship Power Plant Operation and Maintenance; Marine Diesel Engines, Turbines and Systems; Ship Electrical Installations; Ship Repairs.
Internship is conducted on board navy ships and covers all aspects of ship operation, maintenance, servicing and repair of ship power plants.
The course of training concludes with development and presentation of a diploma project and a state examination in Specialized English.
Graduates can gain employment in the following posts: platoon commander, engineering department head on board all navy ship types, watch-keeping engineer on merchant sea- and river-going vessels, specialist in machinery design and repair technology.
